Fantasie Women’s Alex Underwired Side Support Bra
Alex revives the roaring twenties with this simple yet stunning fan-inspired embroidery detailing. Underwired Side Support Bra
This is a beautiful bra and fit as expected based on my other Fantasie bras. I appreciated the attractive, natural, uplifted shape. I am returning it for two reasons. First, although the sizing seemed perfect, I think the cup shape on top was not a great match for me. Though it was neither roomy nor tight, it was bumpy and visible under clothes. Second, the back of the bra where the shoulder straps met the band creaked very audibly with every move I made. If not for the bumpiness, I might have kept it in hopes that washing and wearing would quiet it down, but since it wasn’t otherwise perfect, the noise factor was unacceptable.
Gives my boobs (which are bigger at the bottom, shallow at the top) a nice natural shape and hikes them up to where I want them to be. Not pointy torpedoes and not round half-melons. More cute than sexy in the pink color, but I liked it so much I bought another.
This is a nice bra. I had previously owned it in 30G, which ended up a little too small in the cups. So, I ordered it in 30GG, and it is even tighter in the band, and a little too big in the cups. So, I seem to be between sizes. I think that a 32FF may work if I decide to reorder it at some point. For reference, a 30GG fits me perfectly in the cups and band in the Panache Envy bra in nude. So, at least in 30GG this runs smaller in the band and bigger in the cups than the Panache Envy, which is my only fitting bra right now. I would also like to mention that the violet color is beautiful in person!! Also, the 30GG size has three rows of hooks, which makes it very supportive if the fit is right for you.
Fantasie bras are my favorites, although I wear other brands as well. If you are large-busted, these bras might be for you. I need sturdy support and an underwire that is the right shape and size for my “girls”. It took a long time – years! – to find the perfect fit, and Fantasie is the brand that simply works for me. The quality of construction is excellent; I’ve never had a rip or tear, and I’ve never actually worn out a Fantasie bra (although I have, ahem, outgrown a bra or two). They are machine washed after a couple of wearings on the gentle cycle, then hung to dry. I cycle through about 10 bras so that each one is washed every 20 days…this approach works well for me, and for the life of each bra. Some of my Fantasie bras are over 8 years old and still supporting the girls just fine. It’s well worth the investment.
Note: I found this particular model to fit a bit small in both chest and cup. Next time, I’ll go a size up and a cup smaller to see if this removes the “bit small” feel.
